Research and Academic Software Development

	iDiscuss iDiscuss is a joint project with several professors at Mississippi State University to better understand student interactions within online discussion systems. Extensive data was collected via a PHP online discussion system from multiple classes for analysis. You can find more information at http://idiscuss.msstate.edu
	Connection Diversity Measurement Tool The tool is being developed with Dr. Ed Allen at Mississippi State University. The goal is to determine if information theory based metrics apply to network intrusion detection by analyzing network traffic logs to find connections that are more unique. It requires developing a Java and C application for the Army Research Laboratory's (ARL) Network Sciences Division through Electronic Warfare Associates Government Systems, Inc. (EWA).
	MADAAT The Microarray Data Annotation and Analysis Tool was developed to aid the Mississippi State University Forestry Department with genetic research on poplar trees by providing a data storage and retrieval and reporting mechanism for gene expression data. It was a year long effort split into two semesters. The team consisted of approximately 10-15 team members that changed between semesters. It was written in C#.
